exe problem

I downloaded the trial program "slideshowsetup.exe"
And my Mac cannot open the file.
Can someone tell me what an exe file is? and is it only for PC's?

Yes, currently ESSC is only available on a Windows PC. We're working on a Mac version though. There will be plenty of announcements here on the forums and on the website when it is complete.
