I received my ESSC Saturday and registered it on Sunday 3/9/03; I made a slide show of some pictures and then added a WAV audeo (cow mooing) from a MX Clip Gallery. I started the slide show and when it came to the slide containing the WAV sound the slide show stopped and the following message appeared: Macromedia Projector has encountered a problem and must close. We are sorry, etc. I removed the Message and the WAV sound and was able to continue the show. I added a musical background and it worked beautifully. I have been working a little with PowerPoint programs (am taking a course online) and ESSC is an easier program to create. Thanks for a nice job. Now, can you help me? I am sorry buy I don't know anything about UBB Code or the proper procedure required in this forum. Will try to learn.

Hi, It sounds like you found a wav file that perhaps was encoded in such a way that ESSC didn't know how to process it. We've made some improvements to sound handling in general and are currently testing them. If you would like, you can download the version we are testing (which seems to be fine so far) and see if it can handle the sounds better for you. You can get it here:

Let me know if that works for you. Thanks-- Brad

Thanks, I started the download but it rechecked and IE failed to continue. With my Dial Up mode it will take me 30 minutes to download. Should I uninstall the original version before downloading the new one?

It's probably best that you uninstall the first copy before you install the next one. Just keep a copy of the slideshowsetup.exe file that you already downloaded in case you need to go back. thanks- Brad

Thanks Brad. The new installation was completed smoothly. I added a few pictures and put a sound on one. I began the show and a new error appeared when I reached that slide, ie. "Internal Error: Unexpected failure while composting bitmap member 6 of PLAYCAST 2" I removed the sound file, added 20 pictures, and added a musical background. Everything was working fine. Then I added a sound again, with the same error window appearing. As the music was still playing I deleted the window and the pictures appeared. The slide show continued until completion. Possibly a little more information may be helpful. I am using Windows XP, Home Edition, upgraded from Windows Me, with Office XP Pro. . The clip gallery I am using was a part of the original MicroSoft Works 2000 installed by Dell. I was able to use that Sound file on a PowerPoint slide show I was using for my current online lessons, but maybe it is not compatible with ESSC. Any ideas you suggest will be welcome, Brad. In the meantime I will keep the latest installion on the computer. Thanks, Baldeagle

My Office XP Pro 2002 has Medea file that I had not loaded. I loaded it and selected a WAV file, a cat meow, and placed it on a slide. When I played the slide show, it also displayed the above message when it came to that slide, but did not stop the show. I deleted the message as the show continued. Now what? Back to square one. Thanks for the assistance, and I am sure you will whip this one.

Hi, Still not sure exactly what the problem is. Could you please email the cat meow wav file to support@programmingart.com and I will use it in a slide show and try to reproduce the error. Thanks--
