I've read previous postings and responses on this topic. I've tried burning a CD with the components of the slideshow folder -- backgrounds, help, helpers, images, prefs, sounds, xtra plus auto run document, license document, and the start slides icon. I get "No pictures - open file with pictures." I've tried burning on the contents of the image file (341 pics) but then I get "path or file denied." Running under W2000.

Hi, Can you check and see if your cd burning software is allowing long filenames? Some programs cut off the names so they are "8 dot 3" and if that happens, it could cause the startslideshow.exe file to not be recognized. One thing you can try is running the slide show from the folder you create on your hard drive before burning it to CD. If it runs from your hard drive, but produces errors after burning to CD, that would indicate a problem with the CD burning process...

Rec'd your reply when I was away and acknowledged that. Now back home. Checked my CD burning S/W (Nero)and made a change under its ISO specs tab for longer file names. Created the autorun CD. It has on it: backgrounds, help, helpers, images, perfs, sounds, xtras, autorun, license, and startslideshow.exe (3.02 Mb). When the burned CD is loaded, the slideshow control box pops up in the lower right screen, the main product ID shows up in the middle of the screen, and then I get: "ERROR: No pictures found. Please open a slideshow with pictures in it and try again.
I also tried running the slideshow as you suggested from the hard drive, that is, I double-clicked the "startslideshow" icon. I got: "Unable to load movie playlist. Does .INI file exist? It must contain a section '[Movie]' with an entry ......"
Any other ideas? I'm away again from 4/3 to 4/8, but I'll check in for a response.
Also have seen posted refs to V1.12. I checked and I have 1.0.0. Downloaded the program again and it still shows as 1.0.0. I'm confused!
Thanks.

Hi, If you are seeing 1.0 version, I think what you'll want to do at this point is uninstall the program, make sure all the files are deleted from the slide show directory in your program files directory, then download the newest slideshowsetup.exe file from our website, and then install the program fresh to make sure you have 1.12.
thanks, Brad

Wherever I found the V 1.0.0 info perhaps doesn't matter. The main screen shows V 1.12, so I do have the most current version.
So the previously posted question posted on 4/1/03 remains.

So, I've been thinking about this and it would seem that the only reasonable possiblities would be that maybe the pictures aren't making it into the images folder when the show is prepared for Cd or there is some corrupt file involved. If you look in the images folder that is created, do you see files, named P1.jpg, P2.jpg, etc? If you have time, you may also want to email me the index.sld file that is in the helpers folder that is created in the prepared show. Thanks--

Images are there. The index folder is empty.

Hi, There shouldn't be an index folder... do you mean that the index.sld file is empty? If you look at it in the the Windows file explorer, is it 0 Kb?

Yes, the index.sld file has zero bytes in it.

Hi, I've been trying to reproduce this problem, but have been unable. You might want to try this... right before you go to the File menu and prepare the slide show for CD, just re-save the show to make sure the show you're working on is saved to disk. I appreciate your patience with this matter. If you find it doesn't seem like it's going to work for you, please let us know at support@programmingart.com and we'll take care of your order for you. Thanks--
