KAT version 1.1 released!
      #328 - 01/30/04 09:18 PM

Hi Everyone,
We've released a minor update to KAT. The update includes 2 small additions which allow you to turn the interface animations on and off and also let's you choose between 2 different lesson styles in the lower level typing lessons. Being able to turn the interface animations off will allow the program to run faster on slower computers. In the lower level lessons, now you can choose between seeing the letters one at a time, or seeing them all at once in a paragraph format.

Version 1.1 also contains a bug fix that affected Windows 2000 users. If you use Windows 2000, you'll definitely want to get the update because you might experience invisible characters randomly with version 1.0. This bug did not affect other versions of Windows or the Mac version.

You can download the full version here:
http://www.programmingart.com/products/key/kat-setup.exe

Or, if you already have 1.0 installed, you should just download the patch:
http://www.programmingart.com/products/key/kat-patch-1.1.exe

If you have 1.0 and install the patch, it will allow you to keep all your existing data in the updated version.

Mac OS X users can get the 1.1 version here:
http://www.programmingart.com/products/key/kat-osx.sit

There are Mac-specific updating instructions in the README file of this download.

Happy typing!

Does the license covers both Mac and windows. I do have a powerbook and a windows laptop? Can I install the software to both of my machines? or only one?

Hi,
The license states that you can only use the program on one machine. Storing a backup copy on another machine is perfectly fine as long as the use is dedicated to one machine. Thanks for the question!
