Substitute color for texture
      #450 - 09/02/04 02:05 PM

Hello,

I have an image that uses colors to represent elements of the environment. For example, Green means forest, Yellow means desert, etc. What I need to do is to make the image more realistic by substituting each color with a corresponding texture. That is, swap the Green for a picture of trees. Is there a way to do this in Photoshop?

Thanks in advance,

Neil

Hey Neil,

Depending on how you set it up, I'd make a mask the same size as your color sample and then put a photo in there that is affected by the mask so it stays within the correct boundaries. Hope that helps!
