Music File wont play when both PC/ Mac are burned
      #466 - 09/28/04 10:16 AM

Hi-

I installed ESSC on my Mac.
I created a show and burned it to
a disk, once in mac, once in PC format.
BUT, when I play the windows version, the music doesnt
play. The music file was originally a PC file.
The Mac version plays fine. Any ideas? Thanks.
P.S. Should the Mac autoplay like the PC version does?
Thanks for suggestions!

Hi,
Are you creating a custom hybrid CD? It will probably be easiest to keep the mac folder and the windows folder completely seperated (although sharing the images and sounds folders should be possible). You may want to put the CD in your Windows machine and then take a look inside the subfolders and make sure the music files made it on to the CD.

The Mac CD will not autoplay. Mac OS X eliminated this ability due to security concerns.

Hi-

Oddly enough if I use the Mac version of the software to make a windows only CD, not a hybrid, it still doesnt play the music. I can open the music file and play it from the CD,but the program doesnt seem to find it. The Mac version works just fine.
Very strange. I've remade the show few times, but nothing helps. Any ideas/ thanks!

Hi,
Is your slide show very large? Would it be reasonable to zip the contents of your Windows slide show CD and email me the zip file? (under 20MB should be OK) If so, you can send it to support@programmingart.com and I will take a closer look to see if I can find out what is going on. If you can't email it, that's OK too, we can try to work it out here, just let me know. Thanks--

I am also experiencing the same problem. I purchased ESSC for OSX a couple of days ago and tried several different methods of burning (ISO9660 and MAC & PC file format) using Roxio Toast Titanium 6.0.5. The file structure looks identical to a slide show created with the demo version of ESSC for WinXP. The music folder has the Mp3’s files in it. I am using OS 10.3.5. Please let me know the solution as soon as possible.
Thanks

Hi,
I think I see the problem now. I've posted a Mac download which I think will solve the problem. You can get it here:

http://www.programmingart.com/products/slideshow/beta/essc-osx.sit

Once we know for sure this fixes the problem, I will update the version and post it on the site. But, you can get it here early. Thanks for all the input!
