No disk in drive
      #564 - 07/08/05 08:46 PM

I have recently started to get a window coming up saying "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive."
I'm given a choice of "Cancel, Try Again, Continue".
I usually cancel, and ESSC comes up no problem.
It is more a nuisance than anything else.
Any Ideas?

I talked to someone before that had this problem and they downloaded a fresh copy of the program and then reinstalled the software and it went away. Perhaps it is caused by a corrupt file.

I tried reinstalling, but with a 2 year old copy. no go.

How does one get a fresh copy. Don't see anything on Programming Art home page.

Tried the new download. Same result.

Is it possible I may have the incorrect WinXP services settings for this. Tried everything else.

Hi,
I did some searching to see if anyone else has been seeing this, and it appears that many programs are seeing this message. Do you have a zip drive or removable drive or card reader attached to your computer? It sounds like these types of devices can cause this error for some reason... especially if there is a glitch with any of them. I saw some posts where people have been disabling these devices or using the "safely remove hardware" option in Windows to get rid of these messages.

Disabled the Zip drive. Works fine now. Thanks.
