I am suddenly having a strange problem that has never occured before.
When making a stand alone slide show that is burned to a CD, the slide show will not launch from the CD. Every time I do, I get a the following error message, "Director Player Error Script Error. Continue?".
If I click on "No", the program quits. If I click on "Yes", the Viewer program launches, the control panel shows in the bottom right of the screen but nothing happens. I can go to the "Open Slide Show" command in the menu bar and select it but nithing will happen.
If I then take the slide show from the CD and copy to my hard drive, it works just fine.
So, to recap:
Stand alone slide show on computer works just fine. Burn to CD Stand alone slide will not launch from CD. Get error message. Copy stand alone slide show from CD to computer, works just fine.
I am using ESSC 9.0r383 and Mac OSX 10.4.9 on a G4.

As an addendum, I tried burning a CD on two different computers and playing it on three different computers.

As a further addendum, I had also burned a Windows version of the stand alone slide show to the same CD. The Windows version plays just fine.

Hi,
When you burn the CD for Mac, what format and program do you use? If the format is iso 9660 (for a PC) I wonder if that is making it not work correctly on the Mac side. I have a Mac running that version of Tiger, so I can try to replicate what you're doing and see what I can find.

I am using Toast 7 to burn CDs. I am using Toast's standard "Mac & PC" setting to burn. I am not using the ISO 9660 or any other setting.

Well, I was able to test on 10.4.9 and everything checked out OK. This was done on a Mac Book Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with 10.4.9. I do not have Toast on this machine, but I burned the CD by putting a blank CDR in the superdrive and using the built-in burning capabilities in the Finder to burn the CD. I would think this would leave 2 possibilities. 1) There could be a Toast setting which is affecting the burn somehow 2) Make sure you are burning all the necessary files and folders to the CD and not just the one program icon. There will be 3 files and 7 folders which all must be burned to CD. These will all pop in a Finder window after you've successfully used the "prepare for CD" feature from the File menu. Please let us know if any of these clues help with the problem. Thanks!
