I am suddenly having problems with ESSC, similar to recent post about playing from CD, but I am playing from hard drive. I used ESSC several weeks ago with no problem. Now every time I try to Start the slide show, I get the following error. Director Player Error Script Error. Continue? If I push no, nothing happens, just can't play the slide show. If I push yes, it tries to start the slide show and freezes. I am doing it from the hard drive. I have installed the same download file on two computers (first worked on my PC and then I moved to laptop when I registered it). I am trying to use it on laptop now. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled on the laptop.
I have version 1.23
As it seems these things always happen, I am up against a big deadline now. Help please!

If you are seeing this error during the authoring of your slide show. I would check the following:
1) make sure nothing has been deleted from the program folder. This error could be caused by a missing "xtras" folder that is located in the main program folder.
2) make sure you have read and write permissions on the program folder and its contents and also the location where you are saving the slide show file (sld file)
If you are seeing this problem with a slide show you're putting on CD or using in a zip file, be sure to use the features found in the File menu to do this. The "prepare for CD" feature, for example, will make sure all the necessary files and folders are included (3 files and 7 folders will be present to make the show run properly)
