That's a lower level error (outside of the scripting environment), so I might have to think it's likely a problem with the application file as opposed to a scripting bug. I would recommend trying 2 things in this case. 1) redownload the program and run a fresh copy to make sure we're not dealing with a corrupted file. We now have a StuffIt file as well as a gzipped DMG disk image to choose from. You can find them at http://www.programmingart.com/products/key
2) Check permissions of the folder and the files inside and make sure you have read and write access in /Applications/kat-osx/Key Advantage Typing/Key Advantage Typing/helpers
